FFSC is a friendly sailing club at the mouth of the River Deben that embraces dinghy sailing, yachting and an RYA approved teaching centre for younger members - Felixstowe Ferry Youth Sailing. The Club enjoys a lively social programme both for sailors and non sailors with excellent bar facilities. In addition there is franchised catering providing food for Wednesday evenings in the summer and at weekends throughout the year – Springtide Catering is the current franchisee.
The club in 2011 are promoting a membership drive for both sailors and non sailors to enjoy our facilities. To encourage this the membership fees have been halved for a year for new members and no joining fees. (See membership section for details)
Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club is run by members for members and new members are very welcome. The superb clubhouse with both river and sea views from the bar provides modern changing rooms with shower and toilet facilities as well as a lounge bar and clubroom/dining area. The clubroom can be hired by both members and outside organisations for private functions. (See under social scene - Club Hire.)
Excellent rescue cover using modern Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) is provided at all times when there is organised sailing. There is no provision at other times.
Sailing members are requested to help with sailing organisation during the year
and members are also requested to help out with social activities.
F.F.S.C. has 45 years of experience in hosting not only open meetings but national dinghy class championships.
